In the competitive landscape of media outreach, timing can make all the difference between your pitch being noticed or lost in the shuffle.
At Wizikey, we understand the critical role timing plays in pitch success, and we’ve delved deep into data analytics, specifically heatmaps, to uncover the optimal times for sending pitches. Let’s explore how deciphering the best time to send a pitch to the reporters can significantly impact your outreach strategies.
When it comes to pitching your ideas, stories, products, or services to journalists, reporters, and influencers, timing is paramount. The goal is to capture their attention when they are most receptive, increasing the chances of engagement and coverage. By analyzing vast datasets and open rates, we can pinpoint specific time slots that yield higher response rates, maximizing the effectiveness of your pitches.
Using data collected from pitches sent via Wizikey to journalists from November to January, our analysis uncovered specific time slots that displayed remarkably high open rates.
We have specifically analyzed data from pitches with a minimum of 100 deliveries and openings, in three months duration, to draw meaningful conclusions, excluding cases where data is too limited to make significant inferences.
Similarly, for the month of March, having considered instances where the number of pitches delivered and opened were at least 30, we identified the peak engagement time as 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM IST, based on the observed 44% open rate
We may also conclude that with an average open rate of 35% between 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM (in the first half) of a working day, the engagement is generally higher as compared to the second working half of the day post lunch. Now you know what can be the best time for you to send out pitches!
Armed with these insights, you can strategically schedule your pitches during these high-engagement time slots to optimize visibility and response rates. Here’s how you can leverage this information effectively:
At Wizikey, we’re committed to empowering our users with actionable insights to enhance their media engagement strategies. The upcoming integration of heatmap data into the Wizikey ‘Engage’ section will provide real-time recommendations, ensuring that you make informed decisions about when to send your pitches for optimal results.
In the dynamic realm of media outreach, timing can be a game-changer.
