At Wizikey, we’re always working to make your media monitoring experience more accurate and insightful. We’re thrilled to share some big improvements we’ve made to our Article Reach algorithm.
Previously, our algorithm looked at a monthly window for calculating domain reach. After careful analysis, we realized that most articles are relevant for only 2-3 days. So, we’ve adjusted our calculations to a 3-day window, making them 10 times more realistic.
Bounce Rate is just the percentage of visitors who view one page and leave a website. To make it easier to understand, we’ve set a standard Bounce Rate of around 30%, which is considered good for a website. This ensures a fair representation of website traffic.
After some experimenting and taking feedback from our users, we’ve introduced a more nuanced approach that considers industry benchmarks for Pages Per Visit and Average Visit Duration. This gives you a better understanding of article reach.
These changes are all about giving you more accurate and reliable insights into your media mentions.
With the new formula, you might see changes in your Article Reach numbers, both for recent and historical data. We believe these adjustments will bring the numbers closer to the real-world dynamics of article visibility and engagement.
